Georgia Yellow Gal

Picture of Georgia Yellow Gal Sugar Cane

The ancestry of this cane is unknown to me, but it could possibly be Cayana-10, a cane from Brazil. Cayana-10 was imported and released into the Cairo, Georgia syrup industry, and it soon became a prominent cane in south Georgia. It is disease resistant, highly prolific and produces a light-colored syrup. When exposed to the sun it turns yellow with red blotches. It grows well from stubble and is medium dense.
