One of the most popular varieties in the deep South (USA) was the Louisiana Ribbon, a red-and-green striped cane. Also called, Ribbon, Red Ribbon, Louisiana Striped, and Home Striped. This is a soft, sweet cane which makes excellent syrup. It does not come back from stubble well, but is a beautiful cane, yielding delicious juice. |
